赤眼蜂是多种害虫的卵寄生蜂,可利用它消灭害虫卵,防治害虫。赤眼蜂是怎样越冬的?在哪里越冬?国际上还没有专题报道过,这个问题既有理论意义,也有实际意义。我国农业战线上的科技工作者,经过多年的冬季野外调查发现,在秋末冬初的时候,赤眼蜂便寻找越冬寄主卵,产卵于其中,在寄主卵内发育到预蛹期而越冬。赤眼蜂发育时,将寄主卵内的营养物质消耗吸收完,到越冬时,寄主卵实际上只剩下卵壳。在淮北地区调查发现,柳毒蛾(又叫杨雪毒蛾) Trichogramma is a variety of pests eggs parasitic wasps, which can be used to eliminate pests eggs, pest control.
