上世纪五十年代,在第一次全国戏曲文艺汇演中,晋剧《打金枝》轰动北京,获得文化部颁发的剧目一等奖,成为山西梆子的代名词。1955年拍摄成戏曲艺术片,由晋剧著名表演艺术家丁果仙、牛桂英等主演。该剧剧情跌宕起伏,引人入胜,用精妙灵至的手法把一场宫廷内部矛盾进行合理化、大众化式处理,其中有着深邃的哲理和别致的情趣。经过几代艺术家潜心创作,晋剧《打金技》已成为一出颇具特色和影响深远的经典保留剧目,至今仍久演不衰。
