[World Nuclear News website reported on May 21, 2012] The Western Australian Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has proposed to allow Toro Energy to continue the Wiluna uranium project. The project is the first uranium project examined by Western Australia since the lifting of the ban on uranium mining in 2008. The EPA has submitted a 109-page report to the Minister of the Environment for Western Australia. The report describes EPA findings on the Wiluna uranium project. The report concluded that the project met environmental requirements and should be allowed to move forward with the prerequisites.
