The new English language curriculum standard clearly states that: “The focus of this English curriculum reform is to reform English teaching by placing too much emphasis on the teaching and teaching of grammar and vocabulary knowledge and ignoring the tendency of students to develop practical language skills....” There are two phenomena in the process of reform of middle school English teaching: one is the traditional way of teaching which is mainly based on grammar teaching, which makes the English class a “full house”.
