岳阳县毛田话的指示词系统基本是二分体系。主要特点如下:一是指示词系统里出现了两个系列。指人/物、处所和时间的指示词是一个系列,指方式/性状和程度的指示词是另一个系列。二是表示远指的基本指示词“免=”和“□[xe~(52)]”不能单独充当论元成分,是限定词;与它们相应的组合形式的指示词在使用频率上有较大差别。三是在与周边方言的接触中,指示词系统较多地受到赣语的影响。 Yueyang County Mao Tian dialect system is basically a dichotomy.
