Half of all AIDS patients in the United States will be over 50 years of age in 2015. No matter how humans have enhanced their control of AIDS today, people living with AIDS remain a gray people marginalized by mainstream society. Photographer Cartya looks for and photographs early survivors of the AIDS virus in the United States and some recently infected seniors who were witnesses to the history of AIDS. As a disease, AIDS reflects so profoundly our relationship with the world.
