1930年,年逾古稀的齐白石大师在北京结识了一位年仅26岁的来自美国的艺术家野口勇。两人一见如故,亦师亦友,切磋画艺。在6个月的交往中,齐白石的艺术对野口勇的创作产生了不可忽视的影响,而野口勇在北京的生活经历,也成为他一辈子难以忘却的中国情结。由美国密歇根大学博物馆(University of Michigan Museum of Art)和纽约野口勇博物馆(Noguchi Museum)联合主办的“野口勇与齐白石:北京1930年”特别展览,从2013年开始至2014年5月,在密歇根大学博物馆、纽约野口勇博物馆和西雅图弗莱艺术博物馆(Frye Art Museum)陆续展出。
In 1930, the late Qi Baishi master met in Beijing, a 26-year-old artist from the United States Noguchi. The two see the same, but also teachers and friends, learn painting skills. During the six-month engagement, Qi Baishi’s art had an undeniable impact on Noguchi’s creation, and Noguchi’s life experience in Beijing has also become his unforgettable Chinese complex. The special exhibition titled “Noguchi Yong and Qi Baishi: Beijing 1930” co-sponsored by the University of Michigan Museum of Art and the Noguchi Museum in New York from 2013 to May 2014, In the University of Michigan Museum, New York Noguchi Museum and Seattle Frye Art Museum (Frye Art Museum) one after another on display.
