“Conference in Evolutionary Linguistics, CIEL 2012” will be held at Peking University from November 9th to 12th, 2012. Evolutionary linguistics takes Darwinian theory of evolution as a reference theory, which involves the evolution of human language in both biology and society, focusing on the two fundamental problems of the origin and development of language. As an interdisciplinary and evolutionary linguistics co-operating in many disciplines such as linguistics, anthropology, biology and archeology, evolutionary linguistics has enjoyed a great deal of international progress in recent years and made many important progress.
