In modern English, there are two basic forms of English nouns’ attributes: - ’S’ and ’of’. Some nouns in English can add ’S’ to represent all relationships. The noun form with this suffix is called the entire box of the noun. Those who can not add ’S’ nouns, and phrases that form with and of form to express all relationships are called of-genus. For example: 1.Mary is my sister’s friend. 2.Mary is a friend of my sister. These two forms combine to form a double genus, ie: the phrase + noun lattice.
