艺术品拍卖市场上的“假拍”有点像股市上的“做庄”，本质上都是“做局”，意图损人利己，是投机行为中的典型。这两年出现的拍卖公司“结款”难现象的一个主要原因就来自“假拍”。委托人与竞买人联手的“假拍”有一定的隐秘性，但是对于拍卖行参与制造的“假拍”应严惩不贷。

据中拍协公布的《2011中国文物艺术品拍卖市场统计公报》显示，2011年度，全国文物艺术品拍卖1000万元以上成交拍品共581件，而成交额总计136.25亿元，已结算的仅有261件，未结算的达234件，均价2500万。1000万元以上拍片几乎一半是天价假拍。
