关于西藏五桑吉(亦即藏银五两)银币铜样,国内及港台钱币目录中未见收录。《中国硬币标准图录》北京出版社、1991年2月第1版、P201“注释”中说:“1946年——1948年发行五两银币……。1953年又铸新五两银币铜质样,后未发行。”此处也只有注释而无拓图。《中国钱币》1990、1、P35,人民银行西藏金融研究所著“西藏地方政府的造币厂”一文中说:“1954(木马年)为十四世达赖喇嘛丹增加措受比丘戒发放布施而发行,按造币厂五两章嘎日记帐记载,1953年(水蛇年)至9154(木马年)两年共铸造331,292枚,合藏银1,656,460两。”此又虽然同样没有附拓图,但是此币的制造年代、历史背景、制造数量以及作为发放布施而曾经发行过等情况,就把事实阐述清楚了。至于“1946年——1948年发行五两银币……”一说,造币厂日记帐并无记载,也未见过实物或拓图,故难能属实。然而。此铜样币为何设有如10桑吉那样,用多秋地区出产的银石,上锅同煮两天,铜元即“镀”成银元呢?1959年实行改革与全国统一币制后收兑情况如何?收兑后有无销熔他作?沉淀散落在民间大体还有多少?这些情况还尚待进一步调查、整理、披露与研究。现就我所持有的一枚铜样考析如下:
