最近,国家地震局工程力学研究所授予美国著名地震工程专家豪斯纳(George W. Housner)博士该所名誉教授称号。豪斯纳博士系美国科学院和美国工程科学院院士,加州理工学院终身名誉教授。他是当代国际地震工程领域内公认的著名科学家,是世界地震工程学的主要奠基者,被誉为“世界地震工程学之父”。
Recently, the State Seismological Bureau Institute of Engineering Mechanics awarded the famous American earthquake engineering expert Dr. Howard (Dr. George W. Housner), the honorary professor of the title. Dr. Hausner is a member of the American Academy of Sciences and the American Academy of Engineering and is a lifelong emeritus professor at the California Institute of Technology. He is recognized as a famous scientist in the field of contemporary international seismic engineering. He is the world’s foremost founder of earthquake engineering and is known as the “Father of Earthquake Engineering”.
