Objective To investigate the role of macrophage-specific low density lipoprotein receptor-related protein (LRP) in atherosclerosis and its relationship with lipoprotein uptake. Methods Macrophage-specific LRP-deficient mice were constructed by apolipoprotein E / LDL receptor double knockout mice. Results LRP macrophages did not affect plasma total cholesterol and triglyceride levels, lipoprotein distribution, blood mononuclear
