绍圣元年(1094)十二月,黄庭坚因神宗实录事被贬涪州(今重庆市涪陵市)别驾,黔州(今重庆市彭水县)安置,绍圣二年(1095)正月离开陈留赶赴贬所,四月抵黔州。之后黄庭坚滴居黔州,直至绍圣五年(1098)以避亲嫌迁置戎州(今四川省宜宾市)。文中所考四帖,不敢遽下断语,言其必为黄庭坚谪居黔州时所作,然出于类归方便,权归属此时期。其中或有作品系年观点不一处,皆不附私意裁夺,照实陈述。
