Based on a corpus-based approach, by analyzing translators’ use of I think and I believe, the purpose of this paper is to examine the gender differences in interpreting between Chinese and English at a press conference. The results show that male translators obviously prefer I think when expressing personal opinions, and I believe mainly by female translators. In terms of function, when interpreting the meaning of propositions and conveying interpersonal meaning, Use significantly more than female translators, as demonstrated by more frequent proactive additions of the insert; overall, male translators’ discourse shows a higher degree of uncertainty than female translators. The result may be related to the different socialization processes that men and women experience and the language habits that they determine. In addition, changes in women’s social status is also one of the reasons.
