我们十二个科学学会联合年会,在兴奮,愉快的氣氛中,勝利的完成了。经过了两日来热烈的讨论,一致认识到我们自然科学工作者,在新民主主义的新中国应负担起来的任务是光荣的,是伟大的,同时也是艱巨的。但是我们有足够的信心来克服困难,完成国家人民给我们的任务。为了完成这些任务,我们认为需要加强组织,发挥集体的力量,以克服目前嚴重的困难。我们要放弃以往为研究而研究,为个人各誉地位而研究的想法;我们所有的自然科学工作者要同心一意面对国家建设的需要,使我们的科学为生产服务,为人民服务。
In our joint and annual meeting of twelve science societies, the triumph was completed in an exciting and enjoyable atmosphere. After two days of heated discussions, we have unanimously recognized that it is great and very arduous for our natural scientists to shoulder the glorious task they should shoulder in the new China of New Democracy. However, we have enough confidence to overcome the difficulties and fulfill the tasks our people provide to us. In order to accomplish these tasks, we think it is necessary to strengthen the organization and give play to the collective strength so as to overcome the grave difficulties now. We must give up the idea of studying for the sake of research and for studying for each individual’s prestige status. All our natural science workers should work in concert to meet the needs of national construction so that our science can serve production and serve the people.
