In the traditional middle school English class, teachers and students pay attention to written language and ignore spoken language. As time passes, students’ desire to speak English gradually becomes lower and lower, and students’ silence in English classes becomes more and more obvious. Not only does it have a negative impact on students’ English listening and speaking skills, but it also deeply attacks the teaching enthusiasm of English teachers. The author believes that there is a direct relationship between the classroom silence of middle school English teachers and the way teachers question. This article will explore the relationship between the two, and put forward some feasible suggestions for the way of English teachers to ask questions.
