Kvearner油气公司提出以碳钢管内衬聚乙烯（PE）作为注水管道。其中钢管提供必要的强度以承受安装和环境负载及注水管内产生的高压；PE管将保持碳钢管免受内部腐蚀。上述管线可达到不锈钢管道所具备的无需维修、20年使用寿命的要求，而费用只是不锈钢管的1／3～1～1／2，且重量轻，易安装，应用前景十分看好。
Kvearner Oil and Gas Company proposed to use carbon steel pipe lined with polyethylene (PE) as a water pipe. The steel pipe provides the necessary strength to withstand installation and environmental loads and the high pressure generated in the water injection pipe; the PE pipe will keep the carbon steel pipe free from internal corrosion. The above pipelines can meet the requirements of stainless steel pipes without maintenance and 20 years of service life, but the cost is only 1/3 to 1 ~ 1/2 of the stainless steel pipe, and is light in weight and easy to install. The application prospect is very optimistic.
