According to the original National Construction Committee (78) Jianshe DZi No. 562 Notice, the Beijing Municipal Construction Commission is responsible for the chief editor’s “Code for Structural Design of Water Supply and Drainage Works” (GBJ69-84), which has been approved by the State Planning Commission as a national standard since 1988. It will be implemented on January 1 of the fifth year. The specific management of this standard is undertaken by the Beijing Municipal Design Institute. In order to facilitate the majority of engineering and technical personnel to master and use this specification, we intend to publish a number of topics written by the normative team. This article gives a comprehensive overview of the content of this specification. The preparation of this specification follows the technical advancement, economical rationality and safety applicability in the corresponding design work.
