Every year， what really makes me feel like going back to my hometown is the red rooftop of the house there. Standing on the rooftop， you could see the highway on both sides， cars speeding through with the wind swishing1 under their wheels every now and then. I liked to stand on the rooftop and watch the passing cars. Where are they coming from？ And where are they going to？ I just watched them getting further and further in the distance， and wished them a good trip. Honestly speaking， I really hoped the drivers or the passengers in the cars and buses could be able to see me. So I waved widely， but I didn’t know who would see me and wave back.
I remembered one morning I got up very early in the morning. I got dressed as fast as I could and ran up to the rooftop. I could feel the fresh breeze2 coming onto my face. I took a deep breath and it was like that the whole world was mine. The birds flew freely in the sky. Oh！ I would like to fly with them if I had wings.
I looked to the east from where I was. There was a bright orange ray in the far sky， looking like shooting fire from the horizon. What a wonderful sky show！ It seemed like letting all worries go with the wind and rolling all sadness into a ball and throwing them into a dustbin.
When evening approached， the night began to blind my eyes. I watched the sun slowly fall under the horizon as the day got greyer and darker. Finally I was surrounded by darkness， and all I could see were streetlights which seemed to lead me to tomorrow.
家乡的屋顶
每年，真正让我回到老家的动力，恐怕是那里的红屋顶吧！站在屋顶上可以看到公路左右横贯，时不时还会有车子驶过，从车轮底下发出阵阵的“嗖嗖”声。我喜欢站在屋顶，注视着川流不息的车辆。它们从哪里来？要到哪里去？我目送着它们一点点远去，然后祝它们一路顺风。说真的，有时候我希望那车子里面的司机或乘客能够看到屋顶上的我。所以我便使劲地招手，可是我不知道谁会看见我，对我回以招手。
还记得有一天早上我起得很早，然后迅速穿好衣服跑上了屋顶。我感受到清新的清风拂面而来。我深呼一口气，然后感觉整个世界就都是我的。鸟儿在空中自由飞翔。哦！我想有一对翅膀陪它们一起翱翔。
我从所站的地方朝东瞭望。遥远的天际有一束耀眼的橙色光芒，就像是冲出地平线的火花。多么精彩的一场天空秀啊！感觉就像是让一切烦恼随风而去，把一切忧愁揉成一个球扔进垃圾桶。
当夜幕降临时，我眼前的景象开始模糊不清了。我看着太阳缓缓地落入地平线，天空慢慢地变灰、变暗。最后，我被黑暗笼罩住了，我能看见的就是那排路灯，似乎想要把我带向明天。
