1992年,全区各族人民在邓小平南巡谈话和党的十四大精神鼓舞下,解放思想,深化改革,扩大开放,大搞经济建设,促使国民经济全面高速增长,各项社会事业取得新的进展。其特点是:一、经济增长速度高于全国平均水平,进入全国前列。全年完成国内生产总值561亿元,比上年增长18.2%,为改革开放以来最高增长幅度,排在广东之后,居全国第6位,高于全国5.4个百分点。
