I. INTRODUCTION When driving a pile, the pile body is squeezed into the stone to cause the surrounding soil body to be subjected to a radial pressing force and form a pore pressure within a certain range. There have been many studies on the stress caused by the piles causing soil stress changes, but most of them are based on the theoretical basis of the radial expansion of infinite cylindrical boreholes in the soil. The pore pressure theory is mostly based on the theory of A. W. Skempton (1948, 1954) and D. J. Henkel (1960). In recent years, research on on-site measurements and measures to reduce pore pressure have also developed. Based on some simplifying assumptions, this paper establishes a simple method for calculating the initial pore pressure of the driving piles for saturated clays.
