微波炉兼具煮食、加热及解冻食物的功能,为市民带来方便,但加拿大卫生部提醒市民,只有透过烹调的方法,才能将食物内的细菌杀死。加拿大每年有1.1亿宗与食物有关的病症,当中大部分个案,只要市民能适当处理食物,便能够避免。要解决食物引起的健康问题,卫生部分别就如何使用微波炉解冻、加热及烹制食物,提出指引。解冻食物:凡食物经解冻后,便应马上烹调、食用,切勿将解冻食物放回冰箱冷藏;
Microwave ovens combine the functions of cooking, heating and thawing food to bring convenience to the public. However, Health Canada reminds the public that it is only through cooking that the bacteria in the food can be killed. In Canada, there are 110 million food-related illnesses each year. In most cases, as long as people can properly handle their food, they can be avoided. To tackle the health problems caused by food, the Ministry of Health separately sets out guidelines on how to use microwave ovens to thaw, heat and cook food. Thaw food: Once the food has been thawed, it should be cooked and eaten immediately. Do not put the thawed food back into the refrigerator for cold storage.
