历史传记的最高境界是审美境界。历史传记的审美化包括这样两个特点：第一，它对历史人物的态度是理解性的，而非褒贬性的；第二，它对历史人物的判断是欣赏性的，而非评论性的。历史认识的审美取向不是某一种特殊的或特定的视角，而是一种普遍的或超越的视角。它的基本原则是：凡历史都是美的。审美判断是最具个性化的判断形式。而历史评价的审美判断就意味着它要求在评价历史时，必须尽最大可能地承认和肯定每一个人对历史所独有的评价原则和判断标准。
The highest state of historical biography is the aesthetic realm. Aestheticization of historical biography includes such two characteristics: first, its attitude toward historical figures is understandable, not praiseworthy; second, its judgment on historical figures is appreciative rather than commentary . The aesthetic orientation of historical understanding is not a special or specific perspective, but a universal or transcendental perspective. Its basic principle is: Where history is beautiful. Aesthetic judgment is the most personal form of judgment. However, the aesthetic judgment of historical evaluation means that it requires us to recognize and affirm, as far as possible, each individual’s principle and criterion of evaluation of history when evaluating history.
