地层中的间断面代表了一段缺失（或无记录）的地质历史，不同类型的间断面通过不同类型的地层不整合面表现出来。其代表的时间结构可以分为三部分，即剥蚀掉的沉积物沉积所需的时间，剥蚀掉这些沉积物所需的时间及无沉积间断的时间。不同间断面具有不同的时间结构单元组合。文中介绍了有关剥蚀量的估算、剥蚀开始的时间及无沉积间断时间的定量研究方法，并对目前间断面研究中存在的问题进行了探讨。
The discontinuities in the strata represent a missing (or unrecorded) geological history. Different types of discontinuities are represented by different types of unconformities. The time structure of its representative can be divided into three parts, namely, the time required for eroded sediments, the time required for eroded sediments and the time for non-sedimentary discontinuities. Different sections have different combinations of time structure units. In this paper, the estimation of erosion amount, the time of denudation start and the quantitative research method of non-sedimentary discontinuity are introduced, and the existing problems in the study of discontinuity are discussed.
