Hormone determination is an important issue in endocrinology. Because hormones are very low in the body and their structures are complex, some of them are still not very understanding of their chemical properties. Therefore, it is often difficult to accurately determine the content of hormones in the gland, blood and urine. With the exception of a few hormones that can be quantitated chemically, most hormones require biological assays. An ideal bioassay method should have the following conditions: one, specificity, two, repeatability, three, sensitivity, four, statistically significant, five, simple, six, rapid, seven, economical in principle. Of particular importance is the sensitivity and specificity. Due to the very small amount of hormones in the body, the assay must be particularly sensitive. If the determination method does not have a certain specificity, the measured results will be meaningless. So far in addition to the determination of gonadotropin is ideal, some other hormone bioassay methods have not yet reached the point of perfection.
