1962年我随军调到了丈夫左洪庭所在的部队生活,先后到过北京、遵化,1971年随部队迁到唐山市,居住在唐山市路北区部队家属区。当时的唐山市是华北地区著名的工业城市。素有中国“煤都”之称,我国最大的火力发电站——徒河发电站也在唐山。唐山有人口上百万,是一个工矿企业集中、人口稠密的城市,经济状况、城市建设都好于河北省其它地市乃至周边省的地区。我没有想到,在唐山我经历了中国历史上最大的一次灾难——唐山大地震。
In 1962, I transferred my army to the army where my husband, Zuo Hongting, lived and successively went to Beijing and Zunhua. In 1971, I moved to Tangshan with troops and lived in the families of the troops in the north section of Tangshan City. Tangshan was a famous industrial city in North China. Known as China’s “Coal Capital,” said China’s largest thermal power station - River Power Station is also Tangshan. With a population of over one million, Tangshan is a concentrated and populous city with industrial and mining enterprises. Its economic status and urban construction are better than those in other cities in or around Hebei Province. I did not realize that in Tangshan I experienced the biggest disaster in Chinese history - the Tangshan Earthquake.
