为了运输和保管中防锈和防损的目的，薄板和带卷等产品需用纸和金属板包装后出厂。由于被包装产品的庞大，这种作业历来很难自动化。尽管如此，新日铁为了生产合理化及清除脏、苦及危险作业，还是潜心致力于包装作业自动化，终于开发出各种自动包装系统。最近，两个以上钢板与钢卷包装自动化装置研制的完成，几乎使全部产品的自动包装得以实现。新近开发的钢板包装系统，能自动包装规格直到高４００ｍｍ、宽１２５０ｍｍ、长３５００ｍｍ的产品。而钢卷包装装置运用简单机构能同时实施包裹与折捆。
For transportation and storage rust and loss prevention purposes, sheet and coil products such as paper and metal packaging required after leaving the factory. Due to the large size of the product being packaged, such operations have historically been difficult to automate. In spite of this, Nippon Steel has finally developed a variety of automatic packaging systems for the sake of rationalizing its production and removing dirty, bitter and dangerous work, or devoted itself to the automation of packaging operations. Recently, the completion of the development of more than two steel plate and coil automation devices enabled the automatic packaging of almost all products to be realized. The newly developed steel sheet packaging system automatically packs specifications up to 400mm in height, 1250mm in width and 3500mm in length. The coil wrapping device using a simple mechanism can simultaneously carry out the package and bale.
