9月11日至14日,由宁夏回族自治区主持在银川召开了“开辟西部通道学术讨论会”。来自甘肃、青海、陕西、内蒙古、江苏和中国科学院、国家民委、经贸部等地区和部门的80多位专家、学者参加了讨论。代表们认为,开辟西部通道工作进展势头好、收获在望,同时呼吁各有关方面对此给予足够的重视和支持,引导西部对外开放工作深入进行。 所谓“西部通道”,是指西部地区根据自身优势开辟的一条对外开放新途径。即利用西北穆斯林地区的关系,发展同中东阿拉伯国家乃至伊斯兰世界的经济、文化合作;大力开拓西部边境贸易,发展同中亚地区国家乃至东、西欧国家的经济技术交流。 学术讨论会交流的情况和记者的调查表明,通过这条“通道”的开辟,西部地区已找到了自己对外开放的重要出路。但是,其间有热有冷,形成强烈反差,问题颇多,需要切实予以解决。
From September 11 to September 14, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region hosted the “Symposium on Opening up the Western Corridor” in Yinchuan. More than 80 experts and scholars from Gansu, Qinghai, Shaanxi, Inner Mongolia, Jiangsu and Chinese Academy of Sciences, State Ethnic Affairs Commission, Ministry of Economic and Trade and other regions and departments attended the discussion. The deputies said that the work of opening up the western passage has made good progress and is gaining ground. At the same time, it calls for all parties concerned to pay sufficient attention and support to this and guide the opening of the western region in depth. The so-called “Western Corridor” refers to a new way of opening up to the outside world opened by the western region according to its own advantages. That is, we should make use of the relations between the Muslim regions in Northwest China and develop the economic and cultural cooperation with the Arab countries in the Middle East and even the Islamic world. We will vigorously open up the trade for the western border and develop the economic and technological exchanges with Central Asian countries and even the East and West European countries. The symposium exchange situation and the investigation by reporters show that through this “channel”, the western region has found its own important way of opening to the outside world. However, in the meantime, there are hot and cold places, which form strong contrasts. There are many problems and need to be effectively solved.
