An Empirical Analysis of Household Consumption Rong Gang Since the implementation of the household contract system in rural China, farmers have regained the basic unit of production. Therefore, analyzing and studying the peasants’ behavior under the existing system is a work of both theoretical and practical significance. This article intends to analyze the behavior of Chinese peasant households from the perspective of consumption, and then explore the purpose and motivation of peasants’ consumption, the characteristics of consumption and the development of consumption level at this stage.
