我在客居京城时,曾去拜访当地书画界的朋友。话题自然聊到当代的书法名家和作品。朋友知我来自湖南,便问我是否了解谭秉炎先生。听到这熟悉的名字,好奇心油然而生,想听听一个不认识谭先生的外地人如何就作品的直接印象来评价谭秉炎先生。为了避免我的言说影响到他的评论,于是我不置可否地反问他为何有此一问。他说到对2008年在北京举办的一次全国名家书法展的印象,虽然参展的作品很多,但让他留下印象的作品却极少。谭先生的作品以其淳厚的古典气息和高超的笔墨功夫深深地打动了他,
