The friction and wear properties of Al2O3-TiC-Co composites under the effect of single abrasive grains were investigated by means of in situ scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The tribological properties of the ceramics show different properties with different wear environments. The wear rate increases with the wear load and increases linearly with the increase of abrasion. It testifies that the microscopic wear mechanism is dominated by micro-cutting and brittle fracture
