由国家体育总局篮球运动管理中心主办,诺基亚(中国)投资有限公司独家冠名赞助,辽宁省体委、浙江省体委以及进入第二阶段比赛的运动队所属地方体委、地方俱乐部承办的“’99诺基亚南北篮球争霸赛”于9月22日至11月6日举行。本次比赛采用国际篮联准备推出的4×10分钟的比赛方式,分两个阶段进行。第一阶段分南北两个赛区进行单循环赛;第二阶段由南北赛区各前四名的球队进行3战2胜制的主客场淘汰赛,最后由南北赛区的冠军队进行5战3胜制的南北冠军争霸赛。参加本次比赛的共有20支男子篮球俱乐部队,其中在辽宁朝阳(北方赛区)比赛的俱乐部队有:辽宁猎人沈飞客车,北京奥神,山
