热发光技术方法可发展用作鉴定宝石质量的又一种手段。本文介绍为此目的所进行试验而取得的初步成果。适合这种试验的天然标本有铁铝榴石(贵榴石)—镁铝榴石(红榴石)系列(三个变种)、绿柱石(两种类型)堇青石和电气石,以上宝石均采自南美、非洲和印度大陆,象对实验室中经人造γ射线辐照后的标本一样,对自然辐照状态下的标本也进行了热发光特性(热发光曲线和光谱发射)的测定。结果令人振奋,能记录下的所有样品的热发光特性都与以往文献报道的情况恰好相
The technique of thermoluminescence can be developed as another means of identifying the quality of gems. This article describes the preliminary results achieved for this purpose.
