1926年深秋。武昌宾阳门外长春观门口,两个北伐军哨兵在站岗。在正门另一边,摆着一张方桌和几条长凳。方桌旁边坐着一位军官。上面挂着一条横幅,写上“招兵处”3个大字。一个学生穿扮、英气勃勃的青年,后边跟着一个面皮白晰和一位粗壮结实的年轻人,他们3人来到“招兵站”桌前。学生穿扮的青年问坐着的军官:“请问这是二十五师吗?”军官回答:“是,你们想当兵吗?”青年人正在沉思,军官接着说:“那就先来登记吧!”青年人又问:“你们师长在吗?”
