苏东坡在任杭州通判时,经常优游于江浙一带的名山大川。有一天,苏东坡途经镇江焦山定慧寺,一时兴起,信手题了一首赞美佛陀释迦牟尼的偈子,书曰:“稽首天中天,毫光发大千,八风吹不动,端坐紫金莲。”东坡居士把偈子填好后就派了一名书童连夜拿到金山寺让佛印禅师过目。他想这首偈子是可随心之作,信手而成,佛印看了后定会爱不释手。谁知佛印刚看了一眼就提起笔来,在偈子上狠狠地批上“放屁”二字。佛印是苏东坡的道友,二人一向交往笃厚,今天缘何发这么大的脾气?待书童将偈子带回焦山交给主
