赤溪村,是宁德福鼎市磻溪镇下辖的一个少数民族畲族行政村。1984年6月24日,《人民日报》头版刊发了一封反映赤溪下山溪自然村贫困状况的来信和《关怀贫困地区》的评论员文章,引起党中央的高度关注和全国各地的强烈反响。同年9月29日,中共中央、国务院颁发了《关于帮助贫困地区尽快改变面貌的通知》,全国性的扶贫攻坚工作由此拉开序幕,赤溪村也因此被称为“中国扶贫第一村”。经过30年“输血”式帮扶到内外联动“自我造血”式精准扶贫开发的转变,如今的赤溪村发生了巨大变化,农民人均可支配收入从1984年的不足200元增加到2014年的11674元,村财收入从无到有,2014年收入25万元。
