多年来,我曾荣获“全国劳模”、“全国拥军模范”、全国首届“百姓金口杯”奖、“全国孝亲敬老之星”等多种荣誉。曾经有人问我你最看重的是什么,我毫不犹豫地回答:人大代表。对我来说,这四个字字字千金。正是想到人大代表的分量,因此,我从不敢在履行代表职责中去折扣这种分量。我经常说,百姓关心的,就应当是代表关注的,我就是从百姓中走出来的,应当多为百姓办实事、办好事。每年我用不少于三分之一的时间到基层、到社会各界进行调研,先后写出20多万字200余条的建议和议案,得到了各级党委、政府和人大的充分肯定和采纳。
Over the years, I have won many honors such as National Model Worker, National Model for Supporting the Army, National First Klum Cup Award, National Filial Piety Star. Someone once asked me what is your most valued, and I did not hesitate to answer: NPC deputies. For me, these four words are superficial. It is precisely the weight of NPC deputies, therefore, I never dare to discount this component in the performance of representative duties. I often say that the people concerned should be the representatives’ attention. I just came out from the people. We should do more for the people and do good things. Every year, I use at least one-third of the time to go to the grassroots to conduct surveys and studies in various circles in the community. I have written more than 200 proposals and motions of more than 200,000 words, which have been fully affirmed and adopted by the party committees, governments and NPCs at all levels.
