大泉山的水土保持基本队,是在大规模水土保持运动中产生的,1956年,大泉山在高級农業社成立以后,掀起了大規模的群众性水土保持运动。当时,技术力量缺乏是水土保持运动中的一个薄弱环节。同时,各地在知道大泉山的治山經驗以后,屡次要求大泉山派技术员去进行具体的技术指导。在这种情况下,为了满足客观上的需要,社党委根据各村的具体情况,抽调了一部分高小畢業生和青年积極分子30人,组成了青年基本建设队。
