莲花池位于保定市市区,原名雪香园,为元代汝南王张柔移镇此地时所建,因园内池中荷花繁茂,故又名莲花池。莲池总面积24000平方米,其中池水面积7900多平方米。园内有水心亭、寒绿轩、藻咏厅等12景,其它建筑和景点环池而建,亭榭楼台,错落有致,布局严谨,具有浓郁的江南园林风格,可谓冀中平原上一颗古代园林明珠。水心亭原名临漪亭,重檐八角攒尖顶,高约12米,底层有围廊,亭内有旋转楼梯可达顶
