按照处方的功能主治，采用4种炎症模型和2种镇痛模型，研究了舒督丹的抗炎镇痛作用。结果发现10、20、40g生药／kgig给药，对小鼠腹腔毛细血管通透性和巴豆油性耳肿的抑制作用非常显著，对大鼠角叉菜胶足肿和佐剂关节炎的抗炎作用也非常显著。既能提高大鼠和小鼠对温热刺激的痛阈值，又能减少小鼠对化学刺激的扭体次数，其镇痛作用具有起效快和作用时间长的特点。为该药在临床上治疗强直性脊柱炎、类风湿关节炎等提供了实验依据。
