This article observed the effect of degonadism on mortality and left ventricular function after myocardial infarction in rats. Male and female rats received left coronary artery ligation or sham surgery three weeks after degonification. The mortality rate in the male goiter group (GMI) within 9 days postoperatively was significantly lower than that in the control infarct group (CMI). No significant difference. The dp/dtmax,-dp/dtmax, and LVSP measured at 9 days after surgery were lower in the male gonad sham operation group (CS) than in the gonad sham operation group (CS); these three indicators in the male GMI group and the CMI Although the group had no significant difference, it had reached the same level as the GS group. In the infarct group, the diameter of the myocardium increased, but the males were more obvious in the GMI group and the females were more pronounced in the CMI group. The experimental results suggest that the complications of left ventricular function and recovery of gonad activity are involved after myocardial infarction.
