美国矿山局正在试验一种井下救护用的无线电信号机。当井下发生冒顶时,利用这种装置可使救护队在地面准确地判定遇难幸存人员所在地点,以便采取救护措施。这种装置是用超低频无线电波,该无线电波可以穿透地表以下305米左右。这个研究项目,现在还处于试验阶段。由西屋电气公司 Boulder 洲试验室配合制出试验样机,定型后将由该公司投产。目前通过现场试验所得到的结果还是令人满意的。
The U.S. Bureau of Mines is experimenting with a rescue radio signal downhole. When the fall occurs underground, the use of this device allows the ambulance team to accurately determine the location of the survivor in distress on the ground for ambulances. This device is used ultra-low frequency radio waves, the radio waves can penetrate the surface below about 305 meters. This research project is still in the experimental phase. By Westinghouse Electric Company Boulder Island Laboratory with the test prototype, the model will be put into operation by the company. The results obtained from field trials are still satisfactory.
