The authors randomized 6 volunteers to intramuscular injection of increasing doses of E. coli cloned human interferon alpha 2 (HuIFNα2) or placebo once a week. Interferon doses were 3 × 10 ~ 5, 1 × 10 ~ 6 and 3 × 10 ~ 6U. Five volunteers injected with 3 x 10-6 U interferon orally administered indomethacin 50 mg every 6 hours from 12 hours prior to injection to 24 hours after injection. Placebo was formulated as human albumin phosphate buffer for interferon preparations. Blood was taken before and 1, 4, 8, 12 and 24 hours after injection; Urine was collected every 4 hours for 12 hours
