The Guizhou Province Ancient Tea Tree Protection Regulations will be officially implemented on September 1, 2017. As a result, Guizhou Province became the first province in the country to legislate for the ancient tea tree at the provincial level. According to incomplete statistics, there are nearly 1.2 million ancient tea trees in 61 counties (cities and districts) of nine cities (prefectures) in Guizhou Province, with more than 150,000 trees aged over 200 years and 50 ancient tea gardens with more than 1,000 contiguous contiguous trees.
