The growing demand for high quality steel requires steelmakers to find ways to cost effectively produce quality products. The 21st Advanced Technology Symposium (ATS) of the Iron & Steel Institute with the theme of “Producing High Quality Flat Rolled Products from EAF / CC / HSM (Electric Arc Furnace / Continuous Casting Machine / Hot Strip Mill”) discusses where high quality starts and improves quality The operation of technology and how to pour and roll higher quality products and a series of problems. The seminar was held in Monterrey, Mexico, from February 25 to February 28, 1996. More notable at the seminar was the signing of a contract between Steel Dynamics and Quality Steel and Schroederman SMS. There is also up-to-date information on the Shirley DRI production and Ipsco’s flexible flat rolling mills (FFM).
