Recently, a seminar on marine energy in the United States and Japan was held in Tokyo to discuss the development of marine energy in the next 50 years. At the meeting, J, R, Vadus, chief of the marine engineering and technology department of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration of the United States, predicted: After 50 years, the world’s oil and gas resources will be depleted. Coal will be an important fuel for the 21st century. Because coal burning brings with it a series of adverse consequences, and the ocean contains inexhaustible and pollution-free sources of energy, attention will be focused on the development of ocean energy. At present, all countries are vigorously carrying out wave, ocean current, salinity gradient difference, temperature difference power generation; With the development of technology, thermoelectric power generation will become the practical energy of the 21st century. Some experimental thermoelectric power stations (such as Hawaii 10KW power station and Japan 30KW power station on (?) Lu Island) have been put into operation, which lays the foundation for large-scale thermoelectric power generation research.
