Objective: To investigate the characteristics of multifocal visual evoked potentials in elderly patients with anisometropic amblyopia treated with levodopa. Methods: The amplitude and latency of multifocal visual evoked potentials in 58 patients with anisometropic amblyopia before and after levodopa treatment were recorded by using multifocal visual electrophysiology instrument and compared. Results: Compared with normal eyes, P1 amplitude and N2 wave amplitude density in the anisometropic amblyopic eyes and the prolongation of latency were mainly in the 0 ~ 2 ° area of the annular visual field (P <0.05). After levodopa treatment, the multifocal visual evoked potentials P1 and N2 wave amplitudes increased and the incubation period shortened in amblyopic eyes. Compared with those before treatment, the difference between 0 ~ 2 ° in ring visual field was statistically significant (P <0.05). Conclusions: The impairment of visual function in anisometropic amblyopia is mainly in the central visual field. Levodopa mainly improves the visual function in the central visual field of amblyopic eyes.
