The consumer goods market has become one of the largest potential markets for the IT industry. Many manufacturers realized this early that China Hewlett-Packard Company was leading the way. In April 1997, China’s first consumer-market-oriented IT department in the IT industry in China, the first IT-based IT department in China, was born and chose Hewlett-Packard’s color inkjet printer as the main push product.
