有人跑来问:最近网上,尽是有关吴冠中、范曾、黄永玉的话题,他们的画,究竟怎么看?他们的艺术成就,究竟怎么样?我回答他:“吴冠中、黄永玉、范曾三人,虽然都用传统纸本绘画,但在艺术体系上却各有方向,吴冠中比较西化,范曾却倾向中式(虽然不纯粹),至于黄永玉,则是东一下,西一下,并不专一。即便是风格上南辕北辙,三人艺品之高下,还是可以作一比较的”。读范曾,只需一双眼睛;读黄永玉,需再加点小聪明;而读懂吴冠中,则非有一点才情不可。
